Everybody loves to verbally wank over Ellie Goulding. It’s a whole lot of  ‘neu Florence Welch/Lykke Li/Little Boots alert,’ which is like comparing a pink wafer to a custard cream – sure yeah, they are both biscuits – but both are entirely different creatures. Plus pink wafers make me barf.

Ellie Goulding avoids saccharine chorus loops and obvious lyrics. I reckon she probably spits on the floor and never buys the Big Issue, writing songs about all the usual shit, but with a rather appealing edge. She’s covered Bjork (brave, brave move gal) and Bon Iver (actually quite alright) and understands the importance of a BIG remix. She’s working with Burial soon, which is set to be a treat of Little Jinder/Drop the Lime status.

Right now, you need to listen to the Jakwob remix of ‘Starry Eyed’  there’s some neat vocals, a pleasant build up then an absolute demolition of a bassline. BOMB.  Jakwob is doin so many huge things right now, a Frank Musik remix to shake your bones about and a very decent Lily Allen mix. Plenty.
